How I Do My Hair

Happy Friday y'all! I am so excited that the weekend is here. I have friends visiting Charlotte for the first time this weekend and we are headed out on the town tonight and to a country concert Saturday night! We will eat, shop, and laugh the weekend away I am quite sure! For all of us, it is our first time staying in an Airbnb and I'm excited to share my experience with anyone that has ever thought about staying in one themselves after this weekend!

I've gotten a lot of compliments/questions on my hair these past few months and wanted to put together a post that would step by step show y'all my everyday hair routine. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. Below is my tutorial for hair that is freshly washed. On days I do not wash my hair, I lightly spritz dry shampoo in my roots, hit my roots immediately afterwards with a hairdryer on cool, and touch up curls that have fallen on become straight to achieve the finished look at the end of this post. I've linked all the products I use above. My getting ready robe my Sleep Luxe Co. is less than $20 and linked above as well! Steps from clean, wet hair to the finished style are below!

On days that I wash my hair, I wash with an anti-humidity shampoo and conditioner. After my shower, I spray the ends off my hair with a Chi protectant spray and a root volumizing spray in my roots to prep for blow drying. My volume spray adds height to the roots of my hair before ever having to tease it- it's the best! I find the more I spritz the protectant spray all over my hair, the smoother and straighter it makes my hair.

I very lazily blow dry my hair! Because I curl it, I don't need to get it stick straight and run my hands through my hair to dry a majority of it. I'm using a t3 Micro hairdryer that I am currently loving! It's quieter than most hairdryers and dries my hair in 5-10 minutes!

I'll take a large round brush to smooth out my hair before styling it with my curling iron. The round brush also adds volume to my hair.

I love my mini t3 Micro straightener for little fly aways and curls arounf my face! I have natural curly/wavy hair and this straightener perfectly smooths out any kinks.

I don't clamp my curls, instead I wrap my hair in small pieces around the barrel away from my face. I am obsessed with this t3 Micro Body waver. This curling iron is absolutely gorgeous and I love how quickly it waves my hair. I also feel like this curling iron has made my hair softer!

I continue to curl my hair in small pieces, that eventually fall and mesh with other curls to create large waves.

I got eyebrow length bangs back in December that I am currently growing out. My bangs are the only piece of hair that I curl towards/into my face.

After I have finished curling my hair, I tease my roots a bit before setting my hair with hair spray. I start at the front of my head and work my way back, focusing on building the most volume at the back of my head. I use a small, teaser comb that quickly builds volume in my hair without making it feel too tangly.

I switch between a Oribe and Sexy Hair hairspray. Neither make my hair crunchy. I love how the Oribe one smells! I spritz my hair with hairspray to set my curls and hold the volume I have teased.
And I'm all set and ready to go for the day!

All the products I use are linked at the beginning of this post!

  1. I was introduced to essential oils at the beginning of the year and have found that they do help with certain issues. I love to use tea tree and lavender one mostly, they seem the best Essential Oils for Aromatherapy in my opinion. They are very good in quality and the price is quite reasonable. I love to use them as they help to refresh me and helps to immune and sleep well. They do ship worldwide, which is best and for free. Also, they have a refund and return option too.
